Mandy Bishop, RMT is a graduate of the McMaster University Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program, as well as a member of the Provincial Medical Acupuncture Association (PMAA), and looks forward to helping her clients with musculoskeletal pain, neurological pain, injury recovery and relaxation.

Medical acupuncture can be defined as the stimulation of the peripheral nervous system with acupuncture needles, with or without electrical stimulation, to induce reflex neuromodulatory responses (sensory, motor, or autonomic) for the therapeutic purposes of treating pain and dysfunction of the locomotor system, reversible problems of dysregulation or to contribute as an adjunctive support treatment in chronic or irreversible conditions.
The goals of medical acupuncture treatment are not to cure, but to provide clinical improvement measured in functional terms through neuromodulation and the activation of and facilitation of the body’s natural pain control and healing mechanisms.
