Clinic Re-Opening May 19, 2020

Re-Open Saskatchewan Guidelines: Phase 2

April 23, 2020

Our goal at Mandala Massage has always been to provide you the best care possible, and in keeping with those values, our clinic has been closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic since Monday March 16, 2020.

In accordance with the recently announced Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan from the provincial government, our clinic will reopen on Tuesday May 19, 2020, as Registered Massage Therapy has been categorized within the Select Personal Services category eligible to reopen in Phase 2.

We will continue to follow all recommendations from the provincial government with regard to maintaining a highly sanitized environment for our clients upon reopening and between each client, as well as monitoring the pandemic status to prevent any potential for virus transmission. This includes screening each client prior to your scheduled appointment to ensure the health and safety of our staff and clients.

As the advice given to the public is to practice social distancing, and the nature of our work is to be within close proximity to clients in order to provide treatment, it stands to reason that we must be vigilant with client screening in order to ensure the health and safety of all.

As well, due to the high volume of clients we see in our clinic, it is important to me to reduce the risk of transmission of the virus to our staff, our clients, and to myself. Given that symptoms can take 14 days to present, and due to the close proximity to our clients, and high volume of clients we see regularly, I do not feel we can be too cautious. If you feel ill, or have been in contact with anyone who has, please refrain from scheduling an appointment for 14 days after the symptoms have stopped.

Thank you for your understanding given this situation. I understand that this can seem a bit surreal, however I do feel it is our responsibility to ensure we do not transmit the virus, and my responsibility to ensure our staff stay safe and healthy.

I will be monitoring the situation closely, and will provide additional updates as time goes on. Although this is a stressful time for all of us, we must still:

-Practice social distancing

-Wash or sanitize your hands frequently

-Do not touch your face

-Call the HealthLine at 811 for telephone assessment if you suspect symptoms of the virus

-Prepare for self-isolation or quarantine if needed

If you suspect symptoms of the virus, you can access the self-assessment tool on the Government of Saskatchewan website here.

Appointments are available beginning Tuesday May 19, but will require screening. I will contact each client individually for follow-up one day prior to your scheduled appointment.

As we are a small business, it has been challenging for us to survive during the extended closure, but we appreciate your support as we navigate through this challenging time with safety at top of mind.

Our community will get through this together, and it is important to remember that even if we may not show symptoms of the virus, and even if we may survive contracting it, that we as a community have to take responsibility for preventing the spread to our community members who may be at risk and would suffer greater consequences if infected.

Please feel free to reach out with an e-mail if you need to. Stay informed, stay safe, and keep practicing good hygiene. We look forward to welcoming you back to the clinic under these guidelines as of May 19, 2020.

In Best Health,
